Hi, lovely people! I’m Lainie, the proud owner of The Oddbodd Stop, and I’m so excited to welcome you to my brand new website! 🎉
I honestly can’t believe I’ve finally taken the plunge and created my very own kawaii corner of the internet. It feels like a dream come true, and I’m absolutely buzzing to share it with you all!
For the last couple of years, I’ve been selling my cute kawaii stationery on Etsy, and I’ve also had the pleasure of bringing my products to amazing conventions like Megacon Live!, StationeryFest, Craft Fest UK, and London Film and Comic Con (just to name a few!). But I’ve always wanted to do more, so I decided it was time to branch out and open my own online store. With this shiny new website, I can now offer a much wider range of unique, handmade stationery products that I just couldn’t sell on Etsy. Expect lots more adorable stickers, notebooks, bookmarks, accessories, and even mystery boxes to add that little sprinkle of joy to your desk or creative space!
Why I Decided to Open The Oddbodd Stop: My Journey Into Kawaii Stationery
A question I am asked often is: “Why did you decide to open The Oddbodd Stop?” Well, the answer is pretty simple (and also super fun!)—I absolutely love cute stationery! It’s my little secret weapon for staying organised and keeping my life on track, no matter what crazy things are going on.
I’ve always had a thing for pretty notebooks, fun pens, and adorable stickers—and trust me, they’ve helped me out during every stage of my life! My background is in theatre (Stage Management, to be precise), and now I work full-time as a Studio Producer for a wonderful content creation and animation agency. Both jobs require loads of organisation, so I decided to brighten up my days with some pastel-coloured stationery to make everything feel a bit more magical.
How The Oddbodd Stop Came to Life: From Etsy to My Kawaii Website on Shopify
After so many friends, family members, and colleagues asked where I bought my cute stationery from, I thought, “Why not see if others would like to have my products?” So, I opened my little Etsy shop, and, as they say, the rest is history!
Since then, I’ve been welcomed into the amazing small business community on Instagram, made some fabulous small business friends, and travelled all over the UK selling my products at fun conventions and events. I’m so excited to see what the future holds, and I can’t wait to take you along on this journey with me right here on Oddbodd’s Blog! (P.S. Oddbodd is my adorable black cat who’s featured all over the website—including in the logo!)
